UBL is now being balloted as a draft international standard by ISO/IEC

ISO/IEC JTC 1 is Joint Technical Committee 1 of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). Its purpose as a technical committee is to develop, maintain, promote, and facilitate standards in the fields of information technology (IT) and Information and Communications Technology (ICT).
ISO/IEC 19845 is the work item of ISO/IEC JTC 1 to approve OASIS Universal Business Language Version 2.1 as an ISO/IEC Standard through their Publicly Available Specification (PAS) process.
As of June 3, 2014 the project is at the "Draft International Standard (DIS)" where National Body members of ISO/IEC JTC1 are balloting to approve the project.

ISO/IEC accreditation can be significant for governmental policies and trade agreements therefore approval of ISO/IEC 19845 should allow for greater adoption of UBL in these environments.
If you are a member of your country's ISO/IEC National Body, or you know someone who is such a member, please encourage an informed decision on the ballot.

The ballot close on 5th September 2014 and the next stage is for a report to be circulated by the ISO-IEC JTC 1 Secretariat.
