Welcome to UBL.XML.org.

This is the official community gathering place and information resource for the OASIS UBL (ISO/IEC 19845) International Standard. UBL defines a royalty-free library of standard electronic XML business documents such as purchase orders and invoices.

This is a community-driven site, and the public is encouraged to contribute content. Find the appropriate area to contribute to by hovering your pointer over the site area titles listed in orange banner above. This will briefly reveal the area description in a small pop-up box. For more detail, please see our policies and descriptions regarding posting content to certain areas.

In order to receive email notifications of posts to this site, please click top-right on your username next to "Logged in as:", or bottom-right "My account", in order to get to your account page. Go to the "Subscriptions" tab and you'll see 5 different sub-areas. The "categories" and "content types" sub-areas have a number of check-boxes. Click on any or all and then save your selection in order to receive an email notification of a new post in that area of this web site.

First UBL/NES Invoice exchanged in Iceland (June 2007)

The Icelandic State Accounting Office has received it's first invoice according to the NES profile 4 format.

 

OASIS UBL Adoption Subcommittee launches new web site

The newly formed Adoption Subcommittee has launched a new service for support of UBL implementtions.

The UBL.XML.org website is an OASIS Focus Area established to provide a forum for those implementing UBL to share ideas, find resources and promote good practices.

 

Public Review Draft for OASIS UBL 2.0 Errata Document

OASIS announced a 15-day review period for the specification "UBL 2.0 Errata 01, Public Review Draft 01," ending 2008-05-08. The UBL 2.0 Update Package provides UBL 2.0 users with an upgrade to the December 2006 UBL 2.0 release.

History of UBL

In 2001, within OASIS, Jon Bosak, one of the inventors of XML markup language proposed the creation of a technical committee with the objective of creating a first set of business documents based on the CCTS (ISO 15000 part 5) to facilitate electronic business adoption tasks by companies and public administrations. This technical committee was called Universal Business Language.
