The Icelandic State Accounting Office has received it's first invoice according to the NES profile 4 format.
The Icelandic State Accounting Office announced that the Icelandic government received it's first invoice according to the NES profile 4 format on June 29 2007. Mr. Bergþór Skúlason states: "This is a great success, not only for us, but all who have participated in this projcet". The invoice was received from their local energy company (Reykjavik Energy) sent in EDI form and converted into NES format by a local WANS operator (SPAN).
Mr. Bergþór Skúlason explains that the "current project is to enable our accounting system Oracle-EBS to receive invoices in NES format and is based on an similar implementation at the city of Copenhagen. Next step is to open this connection for business in end of august. Our goal is to enable all government institutes to send and receive invoices in NES format before the end of 2008."
