Balisage is an annual conference devoted to the theory and practice of descriptive markup and related technologies for structuring and managing information. The first day of the week (2 April) is a separate pre-conference Symposium on XML for the Long Haul: Issues in the Long-term Preservation of XML. The conference itself follows on 3-6 April.
